Consent requirements

When obtaining information from customers you must collect explicit consent to verify their information with bronID.

Consent is key when handling important personally identifiable information. bronID implements a robust consent protocol into every information transfer.

When performing an identity verification bronID is checking an individual’s personally identifiable information with third-party databases including government sources. To do so, bronID requires for expressed and informed consent to be obtained from the end-user to check their personally identifiable information (PII) data.

You must request consent to verify your customer identity. The consent request should be in the following format:

I confirm that I am authorised to provide the personal details presented and I consent to my information being checked with the document issuer or official record holder via bronID (an Identity Service Provider) and third-party systems for the purpose of confirming my identity. I consent for details and results from this identity verification to be stored for audit and compliance purposes with the Identity Service Provider.
